Välkommen till en inspirerande medlemsfrukost med Giva Sverige och Ian MacQuillin från Rogare!

What is fundraising’s right social role?
For the most part, fundraising’s professional ethics have focused on doing the right thing for donors and beneficiaries – donors of beneficiaries of the charities that fundraisers work for. However, what if fundraisers’ duties extend to other stakeholders too – to the beneficiaries of other charities, to the environment, and society in general? As the climate emergency, MeToo and Black Live Matter force us to rethink some of our core professional beliefs, this session explores fundraising’s role in society.

Ian MacQuillin is the founder and director of Rogare, the fundraising think tank at Plymouth University’s Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy, where he is currently leading on a project to develop a new theory of fundraising ethics. He is a lecturer in fundraising and marketing, and is researching the ideological drivers of stakeholder objections to fundraising for his doctoral study.

Varmt välkommen!
