For a stronger civil society

Over half of the Swedish population donates money.
Giva Sverige works to increase the giving in Sweden in support of a strong civil society.

Giva Sverige (the Swedish Fundraising Association), is the professional membership body for fundraising organisations in Sweden. Our aim is to support giving and philanthropy giving in Sweden by improving the conditions for our members to fundraise in a trustworthy way.

Our members

Founded in 1991, Giva Sverige now has over 190 member organisations representing a broad range of Swedish civil society. Our members include large international organisations like UNICEF Sweden, Save the Children Sweden, Doctors Without Borders, and WWF, as well as many smaller organisations. Collectively, our members raised 11.5 billion SEK in 2023.

Members of Giva Sverige must comply with the ’Giva Sverige – Quality Code’, which encompasses governance, financial, and impact reporting requirements. Ethical fundraising guidelines are also a core part of membership requirements. Together, we strive to create a better world by ensuring accountability, transparency, and professionalism in fundraising and the Code is a way to help us get there.

Our work

At Giva Sverige, we prioritise transparency and accountability to secure financial support from the private sector, individuals, companies, and foundations. Our mission is achieved through work within three key areas:

  • Professional Development: We are Sweden’s leading provider of fundraising training, offering a wide range of courses and events.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensuring ethical and effective management practices within our member organisations.
  • Advocacy: Promoting the interests and values of our sector to policymakers and the public.

Among many other events, we host Insamlingsforum annually, the largest fundraising conference in the Nordic region, fostering collaboration and innovation in the fundraising community.
